Car forced off the road crashes into Norfolk building

No injuries were reported at the Army-Navy Surplus store after a car crashed into it

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A car crashed into a Norfolk building, luckily there were no injuries.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday a car barrelled through a bright yellow brick wall at the intersection of Granby Street and W. 27th Street.

The store it crashed into was the M&G Army Navy Surplus store.

According to authorities, a Volvo and GMC SUV were both traveling westbound on 27th, the Volvo was in the left lane and the GMC was in the middle lane next to the Volvo.

At the intersection of the accident, the GMC driver tried to get over to the left lane, forcing the Volvo off the road and into the building.

No one was injured during the incident.

The GMC driver was cited for illegal lane change, and the Volvo driver was cited for not having an operator's license.

No further information was released.
