Check out a mobile WiFi hotspot for free from the Suffolk Public Library

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Got WiFi? The Suffolk Public Library has launched a new program to help people access the library more easily.

The program is called "WiFi2Go" and it works just like any other lending program at the library.

Library cardholders will be able to walk into the Suffolk Public Library and check out a mobile WiFi hotspot for 21 days. The user can renew the rental time up to three time, if no one else is waiting to use it. If one of the devices in not available, a hold can be put on it until it is returned.

The Verizon MiFi devices allow users to connect up to ten devices to the Mobile Hotspot, and are completely free to check out.

The program will begin on August 14.

The Library hopes this program will help bridge the gap between accessibility and internet. They believe the internet is no longer a luxury, but instead a necessity.

If you are interested in checking out one of these hot spots, the library will begin placing holds on the devices August 14.
