Seven released from hospital following Chesapeake gas leak

A natural gas leak in Chesapeake sent 7 people to the hospital on Wednesday. Police are still investigating the cause of the leak.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Seven people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a gas leak in Chesapeake.

Calls came in at 7:30 a.m. that there was a natural gas leak behind a City fueling site. This happened at the 900 block of Hollowell Lane in Chesapeake.

Seven people were transported to the hospital, all with non-life threatening injuries. All were released by noon.

The leak has been secured. The cause of the leak is still under investigation.
