Christopher Newport Univ. declared a '2018 Best College' in Princeton Review

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Congratulations are in order for faculty, staff and students Christopher Newport University.

The university was included in Princeton Review's 2018 edition of "The Best 382 Colleges" guide for students and parents!

Out of 2,500 four-year colleges around the country, only a mere 15 percent of these schools receive this merit each year.

These rankings are essentially founded off of surveys of hundreds of administrators at several hundred four-year colleges, more than 137,000 surveys from students attending the colleges and rating scores in several categories taken from institutional data during the 2016-2017 year.

“Our undergraduate experience is based on a rigorous academic curriculum that offers great teaching and small classes with an emphasis on leadership, civic engagement and honor,” says President Paul Trible. “Yet again, Princeton Review has identified Christopher Newport as one of the very best colleges in America.”

But wait, there's more!

CNU was also ranked 10th for Best College Dorms, 15th for Most Engaged in Community Service and 20th for Best College Theater!
