Chesapeake Bank robbed in James City County

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- James City County police are searching for a suspect who robbed the Chesapeake Bank Wednesday morning.

The bank, located at 4492 John Tyler Highway was robbed at 10:35 a.m., according to police. Bank employees told authorities that a man entered the bank armed with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an unknown amount of money.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male and 5'8" to 6'0". He was last seen wearing all black clothing, a long black wig, a mask and white gloves.

There were no customers inside the bank at the time of the robbery and no one was injured.
