PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- Two men who were one the run following multiple raids by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security are now in custody.
Federal officials raided multiple sites in Portsmouth on Monday to break up a heroin ring. The investigation was sparked by an overdose death in Chesapeake. A dozen people are facing charges in connection to the case, with the feds saying the gang ran drugs from Hampton Roads to New York, and then back down to Georgia.
Following the raids, officials said that two suspects, Kevin Lawrence and Nicholas Godwin, both 37, were still at large. On Tuesday the FBI confirmed both Godwin and Lawrence had been taken into custody.
