Group of children ransack Norfolk store on Halloween

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) - Police are looking to identify more than a dozen children who they say ransacked a Norfolk convenience store on Halloween night.

Local news agencies report that Norfolk police say about 20 juveniles are believed to be involved in the incident Monday night at a 7-Eleven.

Police say the large group of children stormed into the store and ran away with about $300 in stolen merchandise. No one was hurt.

A witness says that after barging into the store, some of the kids, who were dressed in black, tossed items at windows. Many of the suspects were wearing masks.

Police spokeswoman Jo Ann Hughes says detectives are reviewing in-store surveillance in hopes of identifying any suspects.
