Man arrested after making bomb threat at Hampton Courthouse

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- A man has been arrested after making a bomb threat on the General District Courthouse in Hampton.

On Wednesday at 10:15 a.m., an unknown suspect contacted the court and indicated an alleged threat to the 200 block of North King Street location. 

Officials responded to the scene, and as a precautionary measure all citizens and employees from the courthouse were evacuated.

A sweep of the courthouse was completed and no suspicious devises were found.

Trei Joshua Barnes, 18, from Hampton was arrested in connection to the incident. He has been charged with one count of Threatening to Bomb. 

Barnes remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
