Man arrested in connection to attempted Hampton carjacking

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Hampton Police have arrested a man on Wednesday in connection to an attempted carjacking on November 9.

Jared Ross Lesesne, 24, from the 200 block of Lynnhaven Drive was arrested in connection to an attempted robbery/ carjacking that occurred in the 600 block of Lee Street.

Police received a call at 5:35 p.m., and after investigating, a 67-year-old Hampton man entered his vehicle when an unknown subject jumped in the car and began physically assaulting the victim.

Lesesne was trying to gain control of  the car.

The victim was able to yell for help, and at that time Lesesne fled the area on foot.

Lesesne was charged with one count of Attempted Carjacking and one count of Malicious Wounding.
