Man robbed convenient store with sawed off rifle in Surry County

SURRY COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- Surry County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help tracking down an armed robbery suspect.

On Wednesday around 11:20 p.m. an unknown man robbed the Qwik Shop at 11965 Rolfe Highway with a bolt action sawed off rifle.

The suspect is described as a man approximately 5’8” 175lbs wearing dark blue jeans, green long sleeve hoodie turned inside out, gray t-shirt covering his face and gloves on his hands.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

There were two customers and a clerk in the store at the time, and no one was injured.

Qwik Stop is offering a reward of $1000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
