One man dead, another injured in Newport News drive-by shooting

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- One man has died following a drive-by shooting that left one other person injured on November 30. 

According to police, the shooting occurred in the area of 28th Street and Roanoke Avenue around 9:45 p.m.

Devin Bryant, 23, was found near the intersection with a gunshot wound to the head. 

The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The second victim, a 46-year-old man, was found suffering from gunshot wounds to both of his legs. His injuries were non-life threatening.

According to authorities, a black SUV was traveling on Roanoke Avenue when someone from the vehicle began shooting.

Police are now investigating the shooting as a homicide. No further information has been released.
