Plato's Closet robbed in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Police say a Plato's Closet thrift store was robbed on Wednesday morning in Newport News.

It happened at the store located in the 2200 block of Jefferson Avenue around 10 a.m. Investigators say a man entered the store armed with a knife.  He robbed two clerks inside the business, and then took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing.

No injuries are reported.

Police describe the suspect as an African American male with small dreads, wearing a black hoodie and mask.
