Police in D.C. take Gloucester Co. shooting suspect into custody

Authorities in D.C. arrested a man accused of shooting another man in Gloucester County.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- Metro Police in Washington, D.C. took one man into custody accused of shooting another man over the weekend in Gloucester County.

Mark Raymond Constantini Jr. was taken into custody Monday morning.

On Saturday around 8:50 a.m., officers received a call about a shooting that occurred in a residence on the 8300 block of Guinea Road in Hayes.

Deputies discovered a man who had been shot, and he was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Constantini Jr. has been charged with Maiming and Use of a Firearm in Commission of Felony..

Constantini Jr. was taken into custody after Gloucester Co. deputies were notified around 2 a.m. Monday that he was arrested by the Metro Police Department in Washington, D.C.

Metro Police arrested him on charges unrelated to the shooting in Hayes. Deputies are arranging for Constantini's extradition to face outstanding charges.
