HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are working to figure out what that led up to a homicide in Hampton following a shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

Arriving officers found 18-year-old Damoni Daishawn Sawyer of Newport News and 19-year-old Ryan Ray Taybron of Hampton both suffering from a single gunshot wound. Both men were taken to the hospital, where Sawyer died a short time later.

Authorities say this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence, but that it does seem to be an isolated incident. Investigators say both men are known to police, and were uncooperative and inconsistent in their telling of what happened.

There is no suspect information at this time.

Police have not released any further information. Anyone with any information is asked to call 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
