Portsmouth 7-Eleven robbed at knife point, police search for suspect

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- A 7-Eleven in Portsmouth was robbed at knife point, and police are searching for the suspect.

On Wednesday around 2 a.m., police received a call about a robbery at the 4000 block of Greenwood Drive.

Officers said a man ran into the store, jumped over the counter, displayed a knife and demanded money from the clerk.

The clerk complied, and the suspect was able to get away on foot. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a black man who was last seen wearing dark colored pants, a burgundy and gray hoodie and light-colored shoes.
