Suffolk Food Lion robbed at gunpoint

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Suffolk Food Lion.

Dispatch were made aware of the incident on the 1000 block of Portsmouth Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Upon preliminary investigation, it was found that a male suspect entered the store and robbed a cashier at gunpoint. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a black man, approximately 20-30 years old, wearing a black jacket and a gray hoodie.
