Suffolk man charged with Manufacturing Marijuana

SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Suffolk Police have arrested a man on charges of Manufacturing Marijuana.

According to authorities, Jeremiah Jacob Betterton, 31, of Suffolk was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his residence in the 2600 block of Robin Hood Trail on Thursday.

Police were attempting to serve a warrant related to a domestic assault that occurred early Thursday morning.

Marijuana plants and items consistent with the distribution of marijuana were seized from the residence.

Betterton was also charged with Assault Battery of Family members, Strangle Another Causing Wounding, Abduction and Kidnapping, and Manufacturing Marijuana.

Betterton is currently being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
