Two shot in Norfolk on Spruce Street

Two are injured after a shooting on Spruce Street in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Two people were shot on Spruce Street in Norfolk on Friday.

According to dispatch, police received a call around 4:15 p.m. at the 1500 block of Spruce Street for a gunshot disturbance.

When police arrived on the scene they located a man outside suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Around 4:30 p.m., police responded to Larkin Street and Kennon Avenue for a report of another man suffering form a gunshot wound.

That man was also taken to a local hospital and is expected to be okay.

At this time police believe both men were shot in the 1500 block of Spruce Street and the second man fled the scene prior to police arrival.

Detectives have not released the circumstances surrounding the double shooting. If anyone has any information about the incident, please contact police at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
