Va. Beach man sentenced to 8 years for heroin and gun crimes

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A Virginia Beach man has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin. 

According to court documents, Tirado Johnson, 33, was sentenced on Tuesday and had two outstanding warrants for his arrest from Virginia Beach and Portsmouth.

The Fugitive squad from both police departments located and arrested Johnson at his Virginia Beach home after they watched him exit the apartment building carrying a black backpack.

Police found 46 individually wrapped baggies of heroin and a 9 mm handgun with an extended clip that help 28 rounds of ammunition.

Johnson was also charged for possessing a firearm with the heroin.
