Dog died in Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a fire of a one-story home that killed a dog on Friday.

At 9:49 a.m., fire crews were dispatched to the house on the 400 block of Starboard Road.

They arrived by 9:59 a.m.,  and found smoke and flames coming from the residence. 

According to a Chesapeake Fire Department tweet, the fire was under control by 10:25 a.m.

Two people have been displaced from the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. 

No further information was released.
