Green Cuisine recalls Trader Joe's chicken, turkey salad products that may contain glass

Green Cuisine is recalling over 36,000 pounds of chicken and turkey salad products that may have hard silica and glass fragments in it, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service. 

The ready-to-eat chicken and turkey salads were made between November 4 - 15. 

The recall includes:

  • 10.5 oz Trader Joe's Curried White Meat Chicken Salad with celery, carrots and green onions with a "use by" date of November 10 - 21, 2017. 
  • 11 oz Trader Joe's Curried White Chicken Deli Salad with toasted cashews, green onion and a bit of honey with a "use by" date of November 10 - 21, 2017.
  • 10.25 oz. Trader Joes Turkey Cranberry Apple Salad Turkey "Breast Meat with Sweet Dried Cranberries, Tangy Green Apples, Pecans and Sage with a "use by" date of November 10 - 21, 2017.

The products will all bear establishment number "P-40299" inside the USDA mark of inspection and were sold in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

This is a class one recall, which according to the USDA means:

This is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

No injuries have been reported. 

Consumers who have bought the product should throw the item away or return to the store for a refund.
