Hampton Fire & Rescue free man who was trapped in machinary

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Emergency crews reported to calls of a man trapped in a concrete truck, Wednesday.

Fire & Rescue were called to the scene in the 800 block of W. Pembroke Ave. just after 3 p.m. 

When crews arrived on scene they found a man with his right arm caught in the machine. The man was awake and able to talk with officials. The Technical Rescue Team was dispatched to help with removing the victim from the machine. 

It took 45 minutes to free the 49-year-old man from the machine. Saws and acetylene were used to free the victim. 

The man was then taken to a local trauma center for evaluation. He appears to have serious, but no life-threatening, injuries. 

Officials are investigating the cause of the industrial accident.
