Hampton police searching for suspect in double shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are searching for a man they believe is connected to a shooting that left two women injured Saturday. 

The shooting happened in the 1st block of Wythe Creek Road around 11:45 p.m. 

When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman, each suffering from single gunshot wounds. 

Both women were taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Investigators believe that neither woman were the intended target of the gunshots, but the exact motive remains under investigation. 

Police are now searching for 29-year-old Donnell Anthony Hobbs. 

Hobbs has two warrants on file for two counts of Maiming, two counts of Use of Firearm in Commission of a Felony, one count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and one count of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling, in connection to this shooting.
