VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A popular Halloween event will not be featuring clowns this year, nor will it allow visitors dressed as clowns to enter the attraction.

Haunted Hunt Club Farm announced on Facebook that "In light of recent events in North Carolina, Hunt Club Farm will not permit any of our Halloween actors, event staff, or valued patron to wear clown costumes during out Halloween Festival this season."

The recent events Hunt Club Farm is referring to are the creepy clown sightings around the country, including the state of North Carolina. Often these clowns are accused of holding weapons, or trying to lure children away from their homes.

Haunted Hunt Club Farms has also hired on-site police officers and security personnel for added safety. The Halloween attraction told visitors that they want to make sure they feel safe and secure while enjoying the festival.

As always, visitors will not be allowed to enter the festival if they are wearing a mask.

Haunted Hunt Club Farm is an annual event, it is located at 2388 London Bridge Rd. in Virginia Beach. The festival is open every night from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. starting October 23rd, until Halloween.
