Fox tests positive for rabies in York County

YORK, Va. (WVEC) -- The Peninsula Health District is alerting residents in York County that a red fox found in the 100 block of Terrance Circle in York County's Coventry subdivision has tested positive for rabies.

Rabies is 100 percent fatal if left untreated. If anyone in your household, including your pet, has had any exposure to stray or wild animals in this area within the past few weeks, please contact your physician, or call the Health Department at 757-594-7340. After hours, please call the York County Animal Control at 757-890-3601.
