Virginia is the 38th fattest state in the nation, says CDC

Virginia not far from being in the top 10 comes to lowest obesity in the population. That's according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The CDC recently released its list of the fattest states in America. Virginia was number 38, while North Carolina is much higher on the list, at 16.

Mississippi topped the list, while Colorado came in as the "least fat" state.

The numbers show most people have room for health improvement, finding seven out of 10 U.S. adults age 20 or older are either overweight or obese.
