JAMES CITY CO., Va. (WVEC) -- Applications are now being accepted for entry-level Emergency Communications Officers.
911 Communication Officers are a vital link for all emergency crews, including police, fire, and EMS. Those hired will go through extensive training that could last up to one year.
The 911 center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, that includes holidays, weekends, and bad weather situations.
The center is looking for dedicated workers who can think clearly in high stress situations, multi-task, adapt to ever-changing technology, and can be a team player.
Applicants must have a high school diploma, be able to type on a computer at a reasonable rate, and must pass a criminal background check.
