Kroger to hold open interviews for Veterans and their families

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WVEC) -- Kroger stores will be holding open interviews nationwide for military veterans and their families.

"Kroger is deeply committed to the nation's veterans and their families, and providing opportunities to advance along a variety of career paths is one way we show out support," said Tim Massa, Kroger's group vice president of human resources and labor relations. "Kroger is a place where you can come for a job and stay for a career."

About 70 percent of Kroger's store managers started as part-time clerks. More than 7,000 veterans were hired by Kroger in 2015, and more than 35,000 have been hired since 2009.

This one-day hiring event will be held Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you are interested in this hiring event, first, interested candidates must apply at and then return to the store on November 9th.

No appointment is necessary for this hiring event. Kroger also offers a "mobile apply" for job-seekers to apply through their smartphones or tablets.
