AAA to host Shred-A-Thon for Cyber Security Awareness Month

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- AAA will be hosting two events during Cyber Security Awareness Month dedicated to educating people on the importance of protecting their identity both online and off. 

The shred-a-thon events allow people to bring up to three boxes of junk mail and personal papers to an on-site shredding location to be disposed of properly. 

The first event is scheduled for Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 5366 Virginia Beach Blvd in Virginia Beach. 

The second one is set to take place on Oct. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 733 J. Clyde Morris Blvd in Newport News.

Both events are free and open to the public. 

To participate, you must pick up a free voucher prior to the event. Vouchers are available at any AAA Tidewater branch during normal business hours.
