Celebrate National Coffee Day with a free drink

If you want to enjoy the best coffee city in America, we have the answers for you. Buzz60's Keri Lumm (@thekerilumm) shares the story.

With all the free beverages being offered, National Coffee Day feels more like a birthday or Christmas morning.

On Friday, Sept. 29, bean businesses across the country are offering patrons a free cup of Joe. And because National Coffee Day falls on a Friday, many are offering their promotions through the weekend.

Krispy Kreme and 7-Eleven are extending their coffee promotions through Sunday, Oct. 1.

Neither of those places where you get your fix in the morning? Don't fret, here's a roundup of offers:

Wawa: No coupon is needed to get a free cup of coffee — any size —  on Friday. Also, get a coupon for a free cup when you join Wawa Rewards or by doing a quick survey on Wawa receipts.

McDonald’s: For a limited time, get a small specialty coffee for $2 at participating locations. Also, there are coupons for a free medium McCafé with any purchase in the McDonald's smartphone app. Plus, when you purchase any five McCafé drinks you can get one free when a QR code from the app is scanned at checkout.

Duck Donuts: Buy one hot coffee, get one free Friday at participating locations when you mention the National Coffee Day promotion.

Cinnabon is offering you a free 12 ounce coffee all day.

At Dunkin Donuts, get a free medium coffee with the purchase of any medium or larger hot coffee.

Krispy Kreme is offering free coffee all weekend. There are a couple restrictions with their offer. You can either get a free hot coffee in any size or a free, small iced coffee.

Peet’s Coffee may not have free drinks, but discounted coffee is still good. On Friday, beans are 25 percent off and patrons can get a free drip coffee or tea with purchase.

7-Eleven is giving away free coffee for 7Rewards members through Monday, Oct. 2.

Dutch Bros may not offer any free drinks, but $1 from every drink purchased on Friday will go to local children's organizations, "who positively impact the lives of children in our communities."

Starbucks: While not a National Coffee Day deal, in honor of the day and through Sunday, the Seattle-based company will "be taking over" its stores. For the three days, there will be no menu boards. Instead, the company will share information with customers about how their coffee purchases have made a difference and the company’s commitment to ethical and sustainably sourced coffee.

Keurig: From Friday through Sunday, get 20% off all pods and bagged coffee purchased at www.keurig.com with coupon code CELEBRATE. Get free shipping with a $39 or higher purchase.

Smoothie King: Not an official National Coffee Day deal but medium 32-ounce smoothies are $5 every Friday at participating locations. The New Orleans-based franchise company has several coffee flavored smoothies.
