Coast Guard takes hurt fisherman to North Carolina hospital

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - The Coast Guard has taken an injured fisherman to a hospital in North Carolina.
    
The Coast Guard said in a news release that Station Wilmington station was called around 9:45 a.m. Sunday about an injured man aboard fishing vessel near Hatteras Island.
    
The Coast Guard was told that a 20-year-old man had fallen down a ladder and suffered possible hip, thigh and head injuries aboard the fishing boat Tamera Alane.
    
A Coast Guard boat from Station Hatteras with a Dare County emergency medical team aboard responded. The man was taken to The Outer Banks Hospital in Nags Head.
    
His name was not released and there was no word on his condition.
