Currituck Med Workers Aid Others in North Carolina after Matthew

Currituck County, N.C. (WVEC) -- Medical workers from Currituck are reaching out to other counties in North Carolina that were hit hard by Hurricane Matthew.  

The county's EMS crew aboard a specially equipped bus,  has been working with Bladen County EMS as part of a Medical Strike Team.   Heavy flooding struck the county which is just south of Fayetteville.

On Sunday,  the bus evacuated four patients to a medical friendly shelter.  

The bus is continuing to support the emergency operations in central North Carolina transporting medical crews to areas of need.

They remain on standby to evacuate shelters or medical facilities if the need arises.
