Dollar General Store robbed at knife point in Poquoson

POQUOSON, Va. ( WVEC) -- Police are searching for a man who robbed a store at knife point on Monday night.

Surveillance video shows the male suspect entering the Dollar General Store, at 411 Wythe Creek Road around 10 p.m..

The suspect then forced the clerk to open two cash registers and a safe with a knife, and he got away with a disclosed amount of cash. 

Once he left the store, the suspect walked to a parking lot outside George's Restaurant. He got into a small, four-door sedan and quickly drove off.

The Poquoson Police Department described the suspect as a tall, light-skinned black male, with a slim build, and his age is unknown. He had a hoodie pulled over his head and around his face.

This report comes after two other stores, one if Norfolk and one in Portsmouth, were robbed at knife point in the past few days. Police have not released any details if these events were related.
