Facebook activates safety check-in

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Facebook has activated its “safety check” for those impacted by the Ohio State University attack.

It’s an option the social networking site uses when a disaster or major crisis strikes, allowing users to notify friends and family they are safe.

The suspect is dead with several others hurt.
