Former Accomack GOP treasurer pleads guilty to embezzlement

(Delmarvanow.com) -- A former treasurer of the Accomack County Republican Unit will serve eight days in jail after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of embezzlement.

Ann Marie Page, 62, had been charged with embezzling currency valued at more than $200 belonging to the Republican Party of Accomack and with grand larceny in connection with offenses dating to May 1, 2016, according to the arrest warrants.

The amount embezzled was $1,350, according to court documents.

She pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charges in Accomack County court after an  agreement with the commonwealth.

Page, who has no prior criminal history, was sentenced Thursday to six months on each charge, to run concurrently with all but four days on each count suspended.

Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Randy Fultz said he agreed to a reduced charge because Page had no criminal record and because she reported herself.

He said Page made full restitution even before her indictment by a grand jury.
