Multiple shootings mark bloody weekend in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating two shootings that happened in Norfolk late Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The first shooting happened just before midnight in the 400 block of Monticello Avenue, just down the street from MacArthur Center

Arriving officers found a 32-year-old man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated.

Police say a Richmond man, 32-year-old Jameik Chisholm was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The second shooting of the night happened on 42nd Street near Colley Avenue around 1:20 a.m. 

Responding police found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he is expected to be OK. While police were investigating, two more men arrived at the hospital, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators learned that all three men had been shot at the same location on 42nd Street.
