Chesapeake solar farm vote pushed to September

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- We're going to have to wait to a little longer to hear about the future of a proposed solar farm in Chesapeake.

On Tuesday night, city council voted to delay a vote on the project until September.

A proposal calls for a 32-megawatt solar farm to be built on approximately 150 acres of farmland, near the Hickory Ruritan Club.

Even with this delay, there are two other solar projects in the works in Chesapeake.
