CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WVEC) -- After a city-wide survey, a recommendation has been made to Chesapeake City Council on what to do with over 1,000 acres of land on the Frank T. Williams Farm property.
An input meeting was held Dec. 15, 2016 at the Chesapeake Regional Airport for the city to hear the public's concern. City officials say comments at the meeting specifically addressed concerns regarding the need for wildlife corridors and forested buffers, proper stormwater treatment, and utility and transportation concerns.
A survey, which closed Dec. 30, was also posted on the city's website.
The city's planning commission reviewed the comments collected from the public and has recommended to City Council that the land be used as light industrial and logistics area.
