Bayport Credit Union robbed in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Hampton police are on the scene of a robbery at the Bayport Credit Union located in the 1100 block of Big Bethel Road.

Police say a call came in reporting the robbery at 9:34 a.m. Two suspects entered the bank with guns and demanded money before fleeing to the rear of the shopping center where the bank is located.

Police tweeted a picture of the scene shortly before 10:30 a.m.

A carjacking was also reported in the first block of Hackberry Place at 9:52 a.m. Police believe the incident was related to the credit union robbery. No injuries were reported.
