Dimes for Homeless Veterans

13News Now Andre Senior sat down with a seven-year-old boy from Hampton who is making it his mission to help homeless veterans.

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- A 7-year-old is helping out homeless veterans in a way that is close to his heart.

Christian Graves and his military family were homeless after his mother was diagnosed with Lupus and their financial troubles became too much to handle.

Christian said he wants to help give veterans a place to lay their heads at night.

To do that, Christian is filling jars with dimes he finds and collects which he will then turn into checks to give to local organizations that give to veterans such as Active Veterans With Answers (AVWA).

AVWA is a sponsor for Dimes for homeless veterans.

Donations can be made at local businesses, or at Towne Bank.
