Hampton History Museum presents horror tours

Seamus McGrann from the Hampton History Museum and actress Hannah Tunnel sit down with Lucy Bustamante to talk about some of the horrors and characters lurking around Hampton Roads.

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Just in time for Halloween, stories, and figures from Hampton's dark side come to life during a 60-minute walking tour.

Until October 27, the tours will leave nightly at 6:30 and 8 p.m. from the Hampton History Museum.

The tour features the first witch recorded in America, ghosts of Civil War Soldiers, pirates from Blackbeard’s crew, German submariners, a speakeasy proprietor, escaped prisoners, Spanish influenza victims, and more characters from the city’s tales of mystery and the macabre.

Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Hampton History Museum's educational programs.
