Hampton Police investigating shooting on North King Street

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating a shooting on North King Street that left one man injured. 

The shooting happened on July 22, just before 4 a.m. near North King Street and Rip Rap Road. 

While investigating, officers were alerted to a walk-in gunshot victim at the Sentara Careplex. 

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was shot several times. He was treated and is expected to recover. 

Investigators believe the victim was shot by a person he knows. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
