Hampton police searching for Sonic Drive-In restaurant robbery suspect

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Hampton Police are investigating a robbery at the Sonic Drive-In restaurant. 

The robbery happened just after 1:00 a.m. on November 25 at the fast food restaurant located in the 2000 block of West Mercury Boulevard. 

Police say a man walked up to the drive-thru window, implied that he had a gun and demanded cash. 

The employee was able to lock the window and the suspect allegedly tried to enter through another door that was already locked. 

The suspect ran away towards the Lowe's Home Improvement parking lot. 

Detectives say the suspect is a black male with a black scarf covering his face, black hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants.
