Police identify man killed in shooting near Hampton University

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Hampton police have identified the victim in a deadly triple shooting that took place Wednesday night near Hampton University.

Police say a call came in around 9:42 p.m. reporting a shooting in the first block of Mariners Cove Road at the Hampton Harbor Apartments. Officers arrived to find three male victims who had been shot.

One of the victims, 20-year-old Kevin Neal, of Hampton, was pronounced dead on the scene by fire and rescue crews. The two other victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

School officials say no students were involved in the incident.

Authorities say the shooting appears to be isolated and all suspects have been identified.
