Teen arrested for Hampton courthouse bomb threat

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Police say they've arrested a 16-year-old Newport News boy in connection with a bomb threat on Tuesday.

Officials were notified of a potential bomb threat shortly after 9 a.m. at the Circuit Courthouse, located in the 200 block of North King Street. Hampton Police and Hampton Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, and the building was evacuated as a precaution.

A sweep of the courthouse found nothing suspicious.  Following an investigation, police arrested the 16-year-old and charged him with two counts of threatening to bomb, and one count of conspiracy to commit a felony.
