Two teens injured, one seriously, when they're thrown from moving car

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) – Two teens were injured Saturday when they were thrown from a moving car.

According to a Hampton Police Department spokesperson, they received a call at around 1:30 p.m. reporting that some sort of motor vehicle incident had occurred near the intersection of Stockton Street and Pelham Drive. When first responders arrived on scene, they found a 15-year-old male lying in the roadway unconscious. His injuries were determined to be life threatening. They also located a 19-year-old who had sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old was transported to a local hospital by Nightingale, and the 19-year-old was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The police investigation determined that the two teens were hanging out the front and rear passenger side windows of a white Mazda 4–door sedan that was being driven by a 17-year-old female. As the driver made a left hand turn from Stockton Street onto Pelham Drive, the two victims were thrown from the vehicle onto the roadway.

Police said the incident remains under investigation. They didn’t mention if any of the people involved are facing any possible charges.
