NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Adrian Briggs, 21, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for stealing a man's car and threatening to shoot him in August 2016.
Court documents revealed Briggs asked the victim to use his cell phone to call his mom and also asked for bus money.
The victim agreed to both, but Briggs pulled a gun on him about 30 minutes after the two exchanged conversation. Briggs then made a getaway with the victim's car, wallet and phone.
The car was found the next day and police were able to identify Briggs by a fingerprint left on something in the vehicle.
