Woman allegedly robs Newport News credit union

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Authorities are working to track down a woman who allegedly robbed a credit union in Newport News Friday afternoon.

We're told this happened around 4:50 p.m. at the 1st Advantage Credit Union in the 12000 block of Jefferson Ave.

Officers were told the suspect approached the teller and presented a note demanding money. The teller complied and gave her an unknown amount of cash, then she fled the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black female in her 50s to 60s with a medium build and wearing a short, black wig, a black jacket and black pants.

She walked with a slight limp and was carrying a red shoulder bag.
