Clerk assaulted in Norfolk robbery

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Police are investigating a robbery that left a clerk injured, Tuesday.

The robbery occurred at the Ocean View Inn in the 1020 block of E. Ocean View Ave. 

The suspect entered the inn at 9:15 p.m., when he displayed a gun and demanded money from the clerk. 

The employee gave in to the demands of the suspect, but was struck with the gun, causing an injury. The clerk was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment.

The suspect ran from the scene on foot. He is described as a black man, around 6'3" tall. He was last seen wearing a red bandanna over his face, a black hooded sweatshirt, black jacket, black jeans, and white shoes.
