NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A former Norfolk pastor who secretly videotaped a fellow pastor's wife and daughter while they were naked will spend two years in jail.
Michael Rodney Jones, 45, of the 5500 block of Sandpiper Lane, was sentenced Friday to ten years for two counts of burglary and 24 months for two counts of taking nude video without consent of the subject. Norfolk Circuit Court Judge Joseph Migliozzi suspended the 10-year felony sentence.
Jones, who was a pastor at Norfolk Apostolic Church, pleaded guilty in July.
Prosecutors say Jones went into a house in the 6000 block of Frament Ave. in December 2014 and installed a camera in the bathroom. The video captured nude images of the homeowner's wife and 19-year-old daughter.
Jones installed two more cameras in April, this time pointing at the bed in the daughter's bedroom, according to prosecutors.
The homeowner reviewed footage from his own surveillance video and saw Jones entering his house through the back door. He reported the incident to police.
